Krishnan is a Senior Advisor to Reinova Partners with a particular focus on district energy infrastructure given his extensive experience of district energy networks over 25 years from various executive roles within Canadian and US district energy companies.
Krishnan most recently served as President & CEO of Creative Energy between 2018 and 2023, one of the largest district energy companies in North America with operations in downtown Vancouver, Kamloops, Toronto, and Seattle with customer groups including hospitals, sport arenas, commercial and residential buildings. Under Krishnan's leadership, the company grew customer connections by 6x through origination of greenfield low-carbon networks in the region, entered long-term mutually beneficial commercial contracts, grew advocacy for transitioning low-carbon heat and was successful in securing government grants for low-carbon projects.
Krishnan has also served as Executive VP, Lending & CFO for Infrastructure Ontario between 2014 and 2018 where he was leading the $11bn infrastructure lending program, provided CFO leadership for major provincial public-private-partnership projects, and developing long-term sustainable strategies for the 45 million sq.ft. real estate portfolio.
Prior to joining Creative Energy, Krishnan served as CFO & COO of Enwave Corporation between 1998 and 2013, the largest district energy company in North America, where he was responsible for company-wide financial and operational management, fuel procurement, operational efficiency initiatives, customer pricing and long-term strategic planning. Krishnan was a member of the Enwave project management committee that oversaw the expansion of district cooling networks and through successful development of additional energy systems that enabled the company to significantly grow EBITDA.
Krishnan was awarded the CPA designation in both US and Canada and earned a Master of Commerce from Calcutta University in India.
