→ Bilal joined Reinova in October 2025 as Vice President, Investments in Reinova’s London office. He has over 10 years of experience across energy transition, infrastructure, and energy sector investing and operations, spanning roles across the UK and Europe.
→ Prior to joining Reinova, Bilal was an Investment Manager at Octopus Energy Generation in London, where he focused on growth equity and private equity infrastructure investments across energy transition sectors, including sustainable fuels, industrial heat decarbonization, digital infrastructure, and energy storage. His responsibilities included deal origination, execution, and portfolio management.
→ Bilal’s transaction experience includes a Nordics-based sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) developer, a UK heat recovery platform serving data centres, and a Canadian clean fuels platform utilising biomass gasification. He also supported the formation and seed investment of a UK hydrogen joint venture and co-led active investments in industrial heat and digital infrastructure platforms. In many of his investments, Bilal led transaction origination, transaction execution and continued to hold an active role on the board of the acquired business in overseeing, among others, execution of the value creation strategy and building out management teams.
→ Prior to Octopus, Bilal held investment and engineering roles at bp plc, including in hydrogen and carbon capture, where he supported over $6 billion of decarbonization investments. In particular, he played significant roles in the commercial and financing strategy on behalf of the Net Zero Teeside carbon capture project, one of the UK’s first large-scale carbon capture projects to reach financial close. During his time at bp, he also held numerous engineering and project roles in connection with the development of large gas and power projects with duties that included project management, supply chain management, as well as construction execution and oversight.
→ Bilal holds an M.Eng. in Civil Engineering from the University of Birmingham, is a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIMechE), and completed the Project Finance Program at IFF Training in London.
